Give Me that Mayo (Clinic)

After waiting for five months, I finally had my first consultation at Mayo Clinic for chronic pain. Based on the aggressive treatment, efficiency and quality of patient care, there is no question why Mayo has earned such a fantastic reputation.

Here’s a summary of what has transpired so far:
11.02.09: Neurological consultation
Cervical flexion x-rays with radiologist report within 30 minutes
Neurologist report after radiologist’s findings
11.03.09: Pain psychology consultation
11.04.09: Physiatry consultation
11.24.09: Pain psychology return visit
11.27.09: Physical therapy assessment
12.01.09: Physical therapy

There’s more to my treatment than a simple chronology, including the rest of my treatment schedule, but it’s noteworthy I had cervical x-rays not even one hour after my neurological consultation and the rapidity of each physician’s progress concerning my treatment.

If you have chronic pain and have been or are being treated by Mayo, please share your experience.
