JASMYN, the Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network, is hosting an open house and networking event on Thursday, September 10, from 6-8 pm. I am a JASMYN graduate, having first attended in 1994 when I felt like I was the only gay person on the planet.
Remember Tom Hanks in “Cast Away” removed from civilization and human interaction? That’s how I felt.
I credit much of my self-acceptance to JASMYN for I received support in a safe environment. I have also developed close friendships that have endured for nearly half my life–15 years and still going!

Also take advantage of this networking opportunity as the Open House is geared towards LGBT professionals and small businesses.
